Our philosophy
Waxing as wellness.
We opened Veloura because we were tired of the trade-off. On one side, the chains: efficient, impersonal, a different face every visit and a lobby full of people who know exactly why you are there. On the other, the budget studios: kind, but rushed, with wax that runs too hot and prices that change at the register.
Veloura sits in neither camp. One licensed esthetician, one guest at a time, in a quiet room that smells faintly of warm wax and clean linen. You are greeted by name. Every step is explained before it happens. And you leave with the kind of finish that keeps you coming back on a rhythm, not because of a membership, but because it feels good.
Three words we work by
A private room, warm towels, no waiting area and no small talk unless you want it. Your appointment is scheduled with breathing room on both sides.
Low-temperature Italian film wax that respects sensitive skin. Pre-wax oil, post-wax calming care and honest guidance on ingrowns and aftercare.
Regular waxing turns coarse regrowth fine and sparse. We help you set a rhythm, and we never charge a fee to move an appointment.
Why ITALWAX
The only wax we use, and why.
ITALWAX is made in Italy and used by estheticians across Europe for one reason: it is gentle without being weak. Their film waxes melt at a low working temperature, spread thin, set into a flexible film in seconds, and come away in one piece, taking the hair with it and leaving the skin alone.
On the face, underarms and bikini we use film wax only: no cloth strips, no tugging on skin. On arms and legs we use ITALWAX strip wax for speed. No double-dipping, ever, because every spatula is used once and discarded. We pair it with a pre-wax cleanser and oil to protect the skin, and a post-wax lotion to calm it.

Veloura is owner-operated by a California-licensed esthetician with specialist training in ITALWAX film wax technique and brow design. Every service is performed personally, so the hands that wax you on your first visit are the same hands on your fiftieth.
We serve women and men, first-timers and regulars, and we take real pride in making nervous guests comfortable. If you have questions before you book, text us. A real person answers.

Our studio is in Glendale, a short drive from Burbank, Pasadena, Los Feliz, Atwater Village, Eagle Rock, Montrose and La Cañada Flintridge. We are by appointment only, which means no waiting, no walk-in crowd and a room that is ready for you when you arrive.
