We see one guest at a time in a private studio in Glendale, and we use ITALWAX film wax from Italy, which melts at a lower temperature and lifts hair without gripping skin.

The wax

ITALWAX is a film wax made in Italy. It is applied warm, not hot, and sets into a flexible film that shrink-wraps each hair and lifts it from the root. No cloth strips on the face, underarms or bikini, no pulling on skin, and far less redness than traditional soft wax.
For arms and legs we use ITALWAX strip wax for speed, and film wax on anything bony or tender. It is the wax we would want used on ourselves, so it is the only brand we use. Every spatula is single-use. Nothing is double-dipped.

Before you book
How long should my hair be before waxing?
About a quarter inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice. For most people that is two to three weeks after shaving. If it is longer than three quarters of an inch we trim it first, so there is no need to cut it yourself.
Does waxing hurt?
You feel a brief sting as each section lifts, and it lasts seconds. ITALWAX film wax sets at a low temperature and grips the hair rather than the skin, so it is noticeably gentler than strip wax. An over-the-counter pain reliever thirty minutes before, skipping caffeine, and booking mid-cycle all help. It gets easier with every visit.
How long do results last?
Three to six weeks depending on the area and your growth cycle. New growth usually appears at three to four weeks. Guests who rebook every four to six weeks find regrowth gets sparser and results more even over time.
What is ITALWAX and why do you use it?
ITALWAX is a professional wax made near Milan, Italy, under GMP certification with every batch lab-tested. Its film wax melts at a low working temperature, flexes without breaking and lifts hair close to the skin. The synthetic Top Line is pine-resin-free, which makes it the right choice for allergy-prone skin. We use film wax on the face, underarms and bikini, and ITALWAX strip wax for speed on arms and legs.
Can I be waxed during my period or while pregnant?
Yes to both in most cases. On your period, wear a tampon or cup and expect a little more sensitivity. Waxing during pregnancy is generally considered safe. Let us know so we can adjust positioning and avoid varicose veins or melasma.
Will hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. That is a myth for shaving and waxing alike. Regrowth after waxing is often finer and sparser over time because the hair is removed from the root and the follicle is reset.
How do you keep things hygienic?
A licensed esthetician, gloves, a fresh spatula for every dip so wax is never double-dipped, single-use strips and sheets, and wax warmers temperature-checked before every service.
Do you accept walk-ins?
No. Veloura is appointment-only so that the room, the wax and your esthetician are ready the moment you arrive. Same-day appointments are often available by text.
