What a full face wax includes, and why it is worth it
Studios define "full face" differently, so here is ours: brows, upper lip, chin, cheeks, sideburns and forehead, with nostril edges available on request. Some studios leave brows out and charge separately; we include them, because a full face without shaped brows is not finished.
The fine vellus hair on the cheeks and forehead, the peach fuzz, is what most guests notice afterward. Foundation goes on smoother, highlighter catches the skin instead of the fuzz, and the face reads brighter in daylight. Dermaplaning removes the same hair but only at the surface, so it is back in a week or two. Wax takes it from the root for a month.
Facial skin is thin and pigments easily, so we use ITALWAX film wax only, applied warm, with a pre-wax oil barrier and a post-wax calming lotion. We always wax with the direction of growth and remove against it, section by section, and we never re-wax a section with strip wax.

What to expect during your appointment
Intake and skin check
We go through medications, recent treatments and any sensitivities, then remove makeup and cleanse the whole face.
Protect
A thin layer of pre-wax oil shields the skin so the wax grips hair, not skin.
Section by section
Forehead, temples, sideburns, cheeks, upper lip, chin. Each area is waxed with growth and lifted against it, in small sections that set in seconds.
Brows last
Brows are mapped and shaped at the end, then tweezed and trimmed for symmetry.
Calm and protect
After-wax lotion removes residue and soothes. We recommend mineral SPF before you head out into the Glendale sun.
Comfort level: Rated 2 to 3 out of 5 overall. Cheeks and forehead are mild; lip and chin are the sharper moments, and each lasts a second.
How to prepare

- You have sunburn, open cuts, a rash or broken skin on the area.
- You have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last six months.
- You have used a prescription retinoid or strong acid on the area in the last week.
- You have had laser, a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or dermaplaning on the area within two weeks.
- You have an active acne flare, cold sore or very reactive skin on the day.
Aftercare for the first 48 hours and beyond
For 24 hours, nothing on the skin except a bland moisturizer. No makeup, serums, acids or fragranced products. Expect light pinkness for thirty to ninety minutes and occasionally small bumps on the cheeks that settle by the next day.
For 48 hours, no sun, heat, saunas or sweaty workouts. Mineral SPF from the following morning, every morning. This is the step that keeps the skin even-toned, and it matters most in olive and deeper skin tones.
Resume gentle exfoliation after 72 hours and keep it up twice weekly. Book your next full face four weeks out; that is the rhythm where regrowth is softest and the appointment is quickest. Skip facials for 48 to 72 hours after waxing.

Full face questions
Will my whole face be red afterward?
Light pinkness for thirty to ninety minutes is normal, then it fades. Low-temperature film wax and a pre-wax oil barrier keep it minimal.
Can you wax over acne?
Not over active or open lesions. We work around them, and we can wax the rest of the face.
Is waxing peach fuzz worth it?
For makeup finish and brightness, yes. It will not grow back thicker, and it lasts a month rather than the week or two you get from dermaplaning.
Can I add my nose?
Yes. We wax the nostril edges only, never deep inside the nose.
Is a full face wax every month too much?
Every four weeks is the standard rhythm and the one where regrowth is softest.
What about hyperpigmentation?
The risk is low with low-temperature film wax, a pre-wax oil barrier and daily SPF afterward. It is higher in deeper skin tones, so tell us if you have a history and we adjust accordingly.
Can I have a facial the same day?
Not the same day. Wait 48 to 72 hours after waxing before any facial or peel.

Full Face Waxing at Veloura is $40 during our grand opening (regularly $40–50). During our grand opening the full face is a flat $40, no ranges.
