Bikini line, full bikini or Brazilian: how they differ
A bikini line wax removes only the hair that would show outside underwear or a swimsuit: the inner thigh creases and roughly one to two fingers’ width across the top of the panty line. Nothing on the pubic mound, labia or backside. A full bikini takes the top and sides in further and shapes what remains. A Brazilian removes everything, front to back. If you are not sure which to book, start here; you can usually upgrade mid-service if time allows.
We use ITALWAX film wax exclusively for bikini services. It is applied in small sections along the creases with the direction of growth, sets in seconds and lifts in one flexible piece. Because it grips hair rather than skin and sets warm, this is the area where film wax most clearly earns its reputation.
The crease is where shaving irritation shows most: razor bumps, redness and stubble that catches on fabric. A bikini line wax ends that for three to five weeks.

Cleanse and protect
The skin is cleansed and protected with pre-wax oil.
Small sections along the crease
Film wax is laid with the growth, set briefly and lifted against it. You may be asked to help hold the skin taut, which makes each lift more comfortable.
Tweeze and calm
Strays are tweezed, after-wax oil soothes, and we talk through the first 48 hours.
Comfort level: Rated 3 out of 5: brief, tolerable, and far less than a Brazilian. It eases with regular visits.
How to prepare

Please reschedule if
- You have sunburn, open cuts, a rash or broken skin on the area.
- You have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last six months.
- You have used a prescription retinoid or strong acid on the area in the last week.
- You have had laser, a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or dermaplaning on the area within two weeks.
- You have an active infection, outbreak or irritation in the area.
Aftercare for the first 48 hours and beyond
For 24 to 48 hours, no hot baths, saunas, pools or the ocean, no workouts, no tight bottoms or thongs, and nothing fragranced on the area. Loose cotton underwear only. A cool compress helps if the skin feels warm. Mild redness and small bumps are normal and settle within hours.
From day three, exfoliate gently two to three times a week and keep the area moisturized. If you are prone to ingrowns along the crease, an ingrown serum with salicylic or glycolic acid used two to three times a week keeps the skin clear. Never pick.
Do not shave between visits; it resets the growth cycle and makes the next wax uneven. Rebook every four weeks and the hair returns finer each time.

Do I have to undress?

Can I get a bikini wax on my period?
Yes, with a tampon or menstrual cup. Sensitivity is a little higher, so mid-cycle is the most comfortable time if you have the choice.
How much does a bikini line wax hurt?
A brief sting, around 3 out of 5, and much less than a Brazilian. Film wax applied warm makes a real difference here.
Can I upgrade to a full bikini or Brazilian during the appointment?
