Our half arm covers the lower arm, from just above the elbow to the fingertips, with hands and fingers included because that is where arm hair is most visible. If upper-arm hair is what bothers you, book the upper half instead, shoulder to elbow, at the same range. Tell us when you book and we plan accordingly.
Arm hair is fine and slow-growing, which makes it ideal for waxing. We use ITALWAX strip wax in long sections on the forearm for speed and film wax on the elbow and hands, where skin is thin and bony. The result is even, lasts four to six weeks, and comes back softer each time.
Shaving arms leaves blunt stubble within days and a sandpaper feel. Waxing gives weeks of smooth, and the regrowth is tapered and barely visible.

What to expect during your appointment
Cleanse and protect
The arm is cleansed and lightly oiled so the wax grips hair, not skin.
Long, even sections
ITALWAX strip wax is spread thinly with the growth along the forearm and removed against it. Elbows and hands get film wax.
Tweeze and finish
Strays are tweezed and an after-wax lotion removes residue and calms the skin.
Comfort level: Rated 1 to 2 out of 5. One of the most comfortable areas; the inner elbow and wrist are the only tender points.

- You have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last six months.
- You have used a prescription retinoid or strong acid on the area in the last week.
- You have had laser, a chemical peel, microdermabrasion or dermaplaning on the area within two weeks.
- You have an eczema flare on the area, or take blood thinners without clearance from your physician.
- You have a tattoo on the area that is less than eight weeks old.
Aftercare for the first 48 hours and beyond
For the first 24 to 48 hours, treat the skin like it has just been exfoliated, because it has. Skip hot showers and baths, saunas, pools and the ocean, heavy workouts, sun and tanning, and tight clothing against the area. A cool compress and an oil-free, fragrance-free moisturizer are all it needs. Mild pinkness and small bumps are normal and settle within hours.
From day three onward, exfoliate gently two to three times a week and moisturize daily. This is the single best way to prevent ingrown hairs, because dry, rough skin traps the fine new hair as it returns. If you are prone to ingrowns, an ingrown-hair serum with salicylic or glycolic acid used a few times a week makes a real difference.
Do not shave between appointments. Shaving resets the growth cycle and makes your next wax patchy. Rebook before you leave so the rhythm holds, and if redness lasts more than two days or you see swelling or discharge, see a healthcare provider.

Will arm hair grow back darker?
No. Hair color and thickness are set by the follicle. Many guests find it returns finer.
Can I wax just my hands and fingers?
Yes. Ask when you book and we will quote the low end of the range.
Why was my first wax a little patchy?
Hair is in mixed growth phases the first time. By the second or third visit the cycle is synced and the result is even.
When should I book before a trip?
Two to three days before travel, so skin is calm and smooth for the whole trip.

Can you wax over a tattoo?
Over a fully healed tattoo, yes, and it will not fade it. Not over a tattoo under eight weeks old.
